Israeli Forces Push Forward in Quneitra in New Breach of Syria’s Sovereignty

Israeli Forces Push Forward in Quneitra in New Breach of Syria’s Sovereignty

ALWAGHT- Israeli forces entered multiple towns and villages in Syria’s strategically important southwestern province of Quneitra, setting up checkpoints and conducting searches of residents before withdrawing a few hours later.

Israeli forces carried out multiple incursions into Syria’s southwestern Quneitra province, moving from the Tel Ahmar base toward the Bariqa–Kudna road, the village of Ruwayhina, and several other towns, where they set up checkpoints and deployed tanks. Additional convoys entered from various crossings, advancing toward central and southern parts of the province before withdrawing after a few hours.

The raids mark yet another instance of Israeli military operations in the area since the collapse of Syria’s government, with previous actions including airstrikes on military facilities and arsenals once operated by the Syrian army. These moves have been seen as attempts to exploit the ongoing instability in Syria to seize territory.

Israel’s repeated incursions have drawn condemnation from the United Nations, which accuses Tel Aviv of violating the 1974 ceasefire agreement with Damascus and undermining the buffer zone established under the accord. The international body has also denounced Israel’s broader military actions inside Syrian territory.
