Larijani Designated as Iran’s Senior Security Official

ALWAGHT- Ali Larijani was appointed by the Iranian president as the new secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.

President Masoud Pezeshkian appointed Ali Larijani as the new secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, praising his extensive experience and management skills. He emphasized Larijani’s crucial role in ensuring the council effectively fulfills its responsibilities and called for stronger cooperation among related agencies to address key national security challenges, especially emerging technological threats.

Pezeshkian urged Larijani to adopt a strategic, people-centered approach aligned with the national security framework, focusing on implementing the policies of the Islamic Revolution’s leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The goal is to achieve sustainable security at the national, regional, and international levels through thoughtful leadership.

The president also expressed confidence in Larijani’s ability to lead the council and handle all national security issues exclusively through its secretariat. Additionally, Pezeshkian acknowledged and thanked former secretary Ali Akbar Ahmadian for his dedicated service to the country.
