Qatar Hosts Renewed Indirect Ceasefire Negotiations Between Israel and Hamas

ALWAGHT- Ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas have resumed for a third day in the Qatari capital, Doha, amid ongoing military operations in Gaza.

Indirect ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas continued in Doha on Tuesday, with a fourth meeting reportedly focused on implementing mechanisms, especially around troop withdrawal and humanitarian aid. According to Palestinian officials, no breakthrough has been achieved yet. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that talks are still in the framework-building stage, with both delegations present but not yet engaging in direct dialogue. The negotiations are expected to require more time.

The talks resumed Sunday, coinciding with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's visit to Washington, where US President Donald Trump expressed optimism about a potential deal. While Trump suggested progress was being made, he also pressed Netanyahu to reach a ceasefire. Netanyahu, before leaving for the US, stated that Israeli negotiators were instructed to ensure any agreement aligns with Israel’s conditions. A previous ceasefire was broken on March 18, when Israel resumed military operations, reportedly killing over 400 people overnight.

In a separate statement, Hamas declared that Israel’s military campaign has failed to subdue Gaza or break the resistance. The group pointed to a deadly ambush earlier in the day that left five Israeli soldiers dead and 14 wounded, claiming it shattered Israeli ambitions of defeating Hamas or rescuing captives by force. Hamas emphasized that the struggle is not only military but also a battle of awareness and resilience against occupation, propaganda, and displacement.
