Pezeshkian Says Deal Achievable if US Ceases Intimidation Tactics

ALWAGHT- President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran believes an agreement with the US is within reach, provided that Washington ceases its coercive tactics.

During a meeting with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani at the Tehran Dialogue Forum, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that a deal with the United States is achievable—but only if Washington abandons its coercive tactics. This comes amid rising tensions and threats from US President Donald Trump, despite ongoing indirect negotiations over Iran’s peaceful nuclear program and US sanctions. Al Thani echoed Pezeshkian’s sentiment, noting that pressure on Iran has historically failed, while dialogue and mutual understanding have yielded results.

Pezeshkian and Al Thani also discussed strengthening Iran-Qatar relations, expressing optimism about the implementation of bilateral agreements. Both leaders underscored the importance of regional cooperation to achieve peace and prosperity. The Qatari diplomat reaffirmed his country’s enduring support for Iran, highlighting a shared bond based on religious and cultural ties, and called for closer regional coordination in light of current geopolitical challenges.

In a separate meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi, Pezeshkian praised Oman’s constructive role in facilitating indirect talks between Iran and the US He expressed hope that with Sultan Haitham’s support, the dialogue would lead to a fair and lasting agreement. Stressing the need for Islamic unity, Pezeshkian warned against external efforts to sow discord, while Al Busaidi praised Iran-Oman relations as a model of sincere cooperation. The Tehran Dialogue Forum, featuring delegates from 53 countries, continues as a platform for advancing regional diplomacy.
