Gaza Death Toll Climbs to 52,535 Amid Fuel Blockade on Hospitals

ALWAGHT- With Gaza’s death toll reaching 52,535, the Israeli occupation’s ongoing fuel blockade puts hospitals at risk of shutting down due to dangerously low fuel reserves.

The Israeli occupation is preventing international and UN agencies from reaching fuel storage sites designated for Gaza’s hospitals, citing their location in "red zones." This obstruction threatens to halt critical hospital operations, as these facilities depend on fuel-powered generators to maintain essential services. Health authorities in Gaza have warned that the remaining fuel reserves will only last for three more days.

In the past 24 hours, Gaza recorded 40 deaths and 125 injuries due to ongoing Israeli aggression. As of May 4, the total death toll since the beginning of the conflict in October 2023 has reached 52,535, with over 118,000 others injured. Since the resumption of aggression in March 2025, nearly 2,500 people have been martyred, and over 6,400 have been injured.

Hospitals and humanitarian organizations have issued stark warnings about the worsening crisis in Gaza. With severe shortages of food, medicine, and basic supplies, institutions like the Kuwait Specialized Hospital in Rafah report that over 75% of essential medical supplies are unavailable. The World Food Programme (WFP) has also confirmed that food reserves are depleted, urging immediate intervention to allow humanitarian aid to reach the besieged region.
