ALWAGHT- Israeli forces have escalated their lethal operations in the West Bank, killing a Palestinian and displacing residents from their shelter in Jenin.
Israeli forces shot and killed 24-year-old Suleiman Fawwaz Manasrah near the illegal Homesh settlement south of Jenin, bringing the death toll in Jenin governorate to 39 since the beginning of the Israeli military campaign. His body remains in Israeli custody. In related incidents, raids were carried out in the Balata refugee camp near Nablus, as well as in Fawwar and Wadi Abu Katila in Hebron, resulting in at least one reported abduction.
The ongoing military operations have forcibly displaced hundreds of Palestinians, many of whom are now sheltering at the Arab American University in Jenin. Residents like Mohammed Shalabi described widespread destruction of infrastructure by Israeli forces. In Bethlehem’s al-Minya village, troops blocked key access points during a raid, part of a broader pattern of escalating crackdowns on Palestinian communities.
Meanwhile, Israeli settlers have intensified attacks on Palestinian farmland, particularly in Wadi Qana, where olive trees were uprooted and equipment destroyed. Since October 2023, over 950 Palestinians in the West Bank have been killed and more than 7,000 injured. UN agencies warn of massive displacement, with 40,000 Palestinians forced from their homes, as Israel continues widespread demolitions and what the UN calls systematic annexation of the territory.
