ALWAGHT- Over the past 24 hours, 39 Palestinians have been killed and 118 wounded in Gaza, bringing the death toll since October 2023 to 50,983, as Israeli airstrikes continue and destruction intensifies.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reported on Monday that 39 Palestinians were killed and 118 injured in the past 24 hours amid ongoing Israeli bombardment. This brings the total number of deaths since the war began on October 7, 2023, to 50,983, with over 116,000 injured. Since the resumption of Israeli attacks on March 18, 2025, Gaza has recorded 1,613 new deaths and 4,233 injuries.
The violence has intensified with strikes targeting critical infrastructure, including the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in northern Gaza—the last functioning hospital in the area. Patients and staff were forced to evacuate shortly before the facility was bombed, causing significant damage to emergency services, the pharmacy, and other vital sections. Schools in Gaza City were also hit in the attacks.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus condemned the assault, reporting that a child died due to disrupted care and 50 patients had to be transferred, while 40 critically ill patients couldn't be moved. He emphasized that hospitals are protected under international humanitarian law and called for an immediate ceasefire, insisting that attacks on healthcare must end.
