Iran Denounces Deadly Attacks on Minority Groups in Syria

ALWAGHT- Iran's Foreign Ministry expresses Tehran's firm condemnation of the massacres against civilians in Syria, denouncing the bloodshed and any other hostile or malicious actions targeting minority groups in the country.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has voiced deep concern over the recent violence in Syria, particularly in the northwestern region, where clashes have claimed over 1,000 lives, including 745 civilians. Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei condemned the attacks, especially those targeting Alawite communities, calling them unacceptable and unjustifiable. He urged the HTS-led regime to take responsibility for protecting civilians and stated that Iran had communicated its concerns to influential countries.

Baghaei also addressed Israel’s ongoing attacks on Palestinians in Gaza, which have resulted in over 48,450 deaths. He reiterated Iran’s call for international sanctions against Israel, emphasizing the need to halt arms supplies to the regime. Citing the Genocide Convention, he stressed that countries are obligated to take action and pointed to resolutions from the OIC and African Union urging the cessation of trade with Israel.

On US-Iran relations, the spokesman dismissed the idea of negotiations under coercion, criticizing Washington’s "maximum pressure" policy. He refuted claims by former US President Donald Trump regarding a letter sent to Iranian officials, labeling it a media ploy. While reaffirming Iran’s openness to genuine diplomatic talks, he made it clear that Tehran rejects discussions based on threats and intimidation.
