ALWAGHT- Qatar's prime minister stated that Qatar and the Persian Gulf Arab states would deplete their water supply within three days if Iran's nuclear facilities were attacked by the United States or Israel.
In an interview with American political commentator Tucker Carlson, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani warned that an attack on Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant would cause an "environmental catastrophe" due to severe water contamination. He stated that such an event would result in the entire region, including Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE, running out of water within three days.
Sheikh Mohammed also acknowledged Qatar's past involvement in Syria, where it fought against Iran for 14 years, but emphasized that despite differences, the two countries continue to maintain bilateral relations. He also shared that a US congressman urged Qatar to sever ties with Iran, but he explained that such a move was impossible given the geographic proximity of the two nations.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that any aggression against Iran's nuclear facilities by Israel or the US would likely lead to widespread regional conflict, a catastrophe that would be devastating for both the region and beyond. Iran has already retaliated twice against Israeli aggression, targeting strategic Israeli sites in the occupied Palestinian territories.
