ALWAGHT- The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has cautioned that the Israeli occupying regime is working to intensify its annexation efforts in the West Bank and seize large areas of land in the occupied territory.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Israel's so-called "Greater Jerusalem" project, which aims to seize land in the West Bank and further Israel's annexation agenda. The ministry criticized discussions by Israel’s Ministerial Committee for Legislation, planning to bring the proposal before the Knesset for approval.
The ministry described this move as a major violation, undermining the possibility of establishing a sovereign Palestinian state, while also displacing Palestinian residents and destroying vital infrastructure. It called for urgent international action to prevent the implementation of this plan, warning that it could eliminate any peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
This follows a proposal by Israel’s far-right Minister Bezalel Smotrich to fully annex the West Bank and Gaza Strip, alongside calls to expand Israeli settlements in occupied territories. Israel’s increased aggression against Palestinians since October 7, 2023, and the ongoing settlement expansion have further escalated tensions, with widespread international condemnation of the settlements as illegal under international law.
