ALWAGHT- Reports indicate that two people were killed and six others injured, with two in critical condition, following a stabbing incident in the city of Haifa, located in the northern part of the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories.
Reports indicate that the individual behind an anti-Israeli operation at Haifa's central bus terminal was killed by Israeli forces. Initial reports had mentioned one person dead and four others wounded, with gunfire from Israeli forces quickly following the incident. There were early suggestions that two suspects were involved, but Israeli authorities have not confirmed this, and a search operation is underway.
Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes, including Israeli forces mistakenly shooting an illegal settler, whom they believed to be one of the attackers. Emergency medical teams took the wounded to Rambam Hospital, where several were in serious condition, with one in moderate condition.
The attack comes amid ongoing Israeli escalation in the occupied West Bank, including injuries and forced displacement in cities like Jenin, Tulkarm, and Salfit. Various Palestinian and international groups have expressed concern over Israel's intentions to annex the West Bank, drawing parallels to the devastating situation in Gaza, where over 48,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have lost their lives in the past 15 months. The Haifa incident follows an earlier attack in which an Israeli settler stabbed a disabled Palestinian man in Tubas.
