ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has criticized the US government for its “inappropriate and degrading” treatment of immigrants, including Iranian nationals, calling it unjustified and a violation of human rights principles.
Baghaei, referring to the US government's "inappropriate" treatment of immigrants, underscored the need to uphold international norms, condemning the "inhumane actions" against Iranian nationals as “unacceptable.”
He affirmed that Iran’s Foreign Ministry will take all necessary steps, in line with its legal responsibilities, to safeguard the rights of Iranian citizens abroad.
Baghaei also mentioned that directives have been issued to Iran’s Interests Protection Office in Washington, DC, as well as diplomatic and consular missions across South America, to assist Iranian nationals deported from the US.
“Iran is the homeland of all Iranians, and our compatriots are free to return,” he stated, reaffirming the Foreign Ministry’s commitment to facilitating their return and addressing any related concerns.
His remarks follow the arrival of the first flight carrying migrants from Iran, Afghanistan, China, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam in Panama on Wednesday.
During a weekly press conference on Thursday, Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino confirmed that 119 individuals from various countries had arrived. “Yesterday, a US Air Force flight arrived with 119 people of different nationalities,” Mulino stated.
