ALWAGHT- The assistant to Iran’s vice president for science, technology, and the knowledge-based economy announced that three Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) farms will be established in the country by July 2025 to advance Artificial Intelligence (AI) development.
On Saturday, Mojtaba Alizadeh highlighted Iran’s existing high-speed processing infrastructure, stating, “Since GPU farms are a key indicator in artificial intelligence technology, we are establishing a high-speed processing farm, or the country’s first GPU data center.”
He acknowledged that the project requires substantial investment but emphasized that it will be funded through major contributions from both the public and private sectors.
Alizadeh noted that Iran launched its first GPU farm at a university in May 2024 and is among the leading nations making significant advancements in AI across various industries.
He further announced that three GPU farms will be operational by July 2025 in Tehran, Kish Island, and other provinces.
A GPU farm consists of multiple servers that allocate computational resources to minimize processing time. It significantly enhances rendering, neural network training, and other scientific computations, making them faster and more cost-effective.
