Iran and Saudi Arabia Denounce Netanyahu’s Comments on Palestine

ALWAGHT- Iran’s foreign minister vehemently condemned Israeli Prime Minister’s comments proposing the creation of a “Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia,” labeling them an unprecedented act of aggression that jeopardizes regional peace and security.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's remarks about establishing a “Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia,” describing them as a provocative and reckless act that threatened regional peace and security. He argued that such rhetoric highlighted Israel’s expansionist goals and emphasized the ongoing efforts to erase Palestinian identity through forced displacement and illegal settlement expansion. Araghchi strongly criticized the US-Israeli proposals to forcibly relocate Palestinians from Gaza, calling it part of a colonial agenda to eliminate Palestinian sovereignty.

In response, Araghchi called for global action against the systematic erasure of the Palestinian cause, urging the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions in Gaza and the West Bank. He also pushed for an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address the issue. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan expressed opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians, rejecting Netanyahu's statements as unacceptable and reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s support for Palestinian self-determination.

The rhetoric surrounding the forced displacement of Palestinians also sparked strong reactions from various groups. The Palestinian Resistance Committees condemned Trump’s statements as delusional and an extension of American arrogance. Hamas, along with five Arab states (Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, and Jordan), rejected the idea of displacing Gaza’s population, insisting that any reconstruction must involve Palestinians and international support, rather than forced removal. These reactions reflect a broad regional consensus against any attempt to undermine Palestinian sovereignty.
