Shahid Bagheri Drone Carrier Launches Missiles with a 1,000 km Range

ALWAGHT- IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri stated that the Shahid Bagheri drone carrier is capable of launching missiles with a range exceeding 1,000 km.

The Shahid Bagheri Drone Carrier is an advanced naval vessel equipped with various offensive and reconnaissance drones, and is capable of carrying multiple helicopters. It can accommodate five helicopters within its structure and support four large helicopters on its runway. The carrier features eight hangars, including four double-decker ones, and is designed to deploy five small helicopters from its hangar area.

In addition to its air capabilities, the Shahid Bagheri serves as a platform for long-range missile launches, with the ability to fire missiles exceeding 1,000 kilometers in range. The vessel is equipped with cruise missiles that can operate over extended distances at sea. Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri highlighted that the drone carrier is also capable of providing air cover and ensuring its own security through its missile systems.

Unveiled on February 6, the Shahid Bagheri is Iran’s first fully equipped drone carrier. It supports various drones, including reconnaissance and strike drones, and can operate high-speed attack boats and helicopters. With a seafaring endurance of up to Force 9 conditions and an operational range of 22,000 nautical miles, the vessel is capable of undertaking long-term missions without refueling. Additionally, it features advanced electronic warfare systems designed for effective defense against potential threats.
