ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei has sharply criticized the latest US sanctions on its oil exports, calling them unjustified and a violation of international law.
Baghaei condemned the US government's decision to sanction individuals and entities accused of involvement in crude oil sales, calling it unjustified and a violation of international law.
He further criticized the new US administration for targeting Iran’s legitimate trade with its economic partners, labeling the move as illegitimate, illegal, and a breach of international norms that holds the US government accountable.
On Thursday, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on individuals and companies across various countries, including China, India, and the UAE, accusing them of facilitating Iran’s oil exports.
The move is seen as a continuation of Trump’s Maximum Pressure Campaign against Tehran, which the White House has allegedly revived.
Iran argues that this campaign was already in effect during Biden’s previous term, making the claim of its reassertion meaningless.
