ALWAGHT- Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, told a visiting Hamas delegation that the Palestinian resistance successfully defeated Israel and the US in their war on Gaza, achieving a significant victory by securing a ceasefire.
Ayatollah Khamenei received a senior Hamas delegation in Tehran, including Hamas Shura Council chairman Muhammad Ismail Darwish and acting leader Khalil al-Hayya, on Saturday. He praised their victory over Israel and the US, calling Gaza an example of the Quranic verse, "How many a small company has overcome a large company by permission of Allah." The Leader highlighted the resilience of Gaza's people, who endured a year and a half of Israeli aggression, ultimately emerging victorious. He also commended Hamas negotiators for securing a ceasefire and the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners.
The ceasefire agreement, which includes the release of 33 Israeli captives and nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, has so far held despite challenges, such as US President Donald Trump's controversial proposal to clear Gaza of its inhabitants. Khamenei stressed the importance of continued cultural, military, and reconstruction efforts in Gaza. He emphasized that faith is the "asymmetric weapon" of the resistance, which has allowed Iran and the broader resistance front to remain strong against adversaries.
Ayatollah Khamenei reaffirmed Iran's unwavering support for Palestine, regardless of external threats or sanctions from the US under President Trump’s maximum pressure strategy. He assured the Hamas leaders that the issue of Palestine is a "resolved" matter for the Iranian people and predicted that the day will come when the Palestinian cause, especially the al-Quds issue, will be proudly resolved for the Islamic world. The Hamas delegation presented a report on Gaza’s current situation and their recent successes, affirming the victory as a shared achievement with the Islamic Republic.
