Iran to Showcase Three Satellites at National Space Technology Day Event

ALWAGHT- On Sunday, Iran will introduce three new satellites during a National Space Technology Day ceremony, with President Masoud Pezeshkian attending at the Ministry of Communications.

Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Sattar Hashemi, and Iranian Space Agency Chief Hassan Salarieh will also attend the event.

During the ceremony, Iran will unveil the Navak telecommunications satellite, an upgraded version of the Pars 1 satellite, and the newly developed Pars 2 satellite. The enhanced Pars 1 incorporates key improvements from past experience, while Pars 2 features higher imaging precision, offering an 8-meter resolution for color images and a 4-meter resolution for black-and-white images.

Navak, designed for high-altitude telecommunications, is Iran’s first satellite built for testing communications in an elongated elliptical orbit. In addition to the satellite unveiling, an exhibition highlighting advancements in aerospace technology will take place, with President Pezeshkian set to tour the display. Salarieh previously stated that Iran plans two satellite launches by year’s end and noted that 25 satellites are currently in development, with eight already ready for launch.
