Iran’s FM Meets Hamas Leaders in Qatar on Gaza Reconstruction

ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met senior Hamas officials in Doha on Thursday to discuss Gaza’s reconstruction and the latest political and field developments.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with senior Hamas officials in Doha, including Mohammed Darwish and Khalil al-Hayya, to discuss Gaza’s reconstruction and ongoing political and security developments. Their talks aligned with the third phase of a prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and Israel, covering topics such as the ceasefire's implementation, prisoner swaps, and Israeli delays in delivering humanitarian aid. Darwish described the Al-Aqsa Storm operation as a pivotal moment in the Palestinian struggle, emphasizing the people's resilience in defending their rights and sacred sites.

Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, praising Gaza’s resistance and its role in challenging Israel’s military dominance. He highlighted what he called Gaza’s "heroic operation" both on the battlefield and in negotiations, leading to the ceasefire and prisoner exchange after 15 months of intense conflict. Araghchi condemned Israeli actions and stressed the importance of maintaining international pressure to ensure reconstruction efforts move forward.

In a separate meeting, Araghchi held talks with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, focusing on Gaza, the Palestinian territories, and Syria. They discussed regional stability, with Araghchi reaffirming Iran’s support for Syria’s sovereignty and strengthening Iran-Qatar relations. He also warned against Israel’s history of violating agreements, urging vigilance in enforcing the ceasefire. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized Qatar’s commitment to deeper ties with Iran and acknowledged Tehran’s role in regional peace efforts.
