ALWAGHT- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized that the upcoming partnership agreement with Iran aims to strengthen mutual capabilities and is not directed against any other country.
The agreement, scheduled to be signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on January 17, will follow discussions in Moscow, as announced by the Kremlin on Monday.
"This agreement, like our accord with North Korea, is not aimed at any specific country and is intended to be constructive," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated during a press conference on Russian diplomacy in 2024.
Lavrov highlighted that the agreement seeks to enhance the global capabilities of Russia and Iran, drive economic growth, address social challenges, and strengthen defense capabilities, according to Sputnik.
Earlier, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov underscored the importance of the agreement, calling it a landmark moment for Russia. "This is a very significant event for us, and we place great importance on it," Peskov noted, adding that both presidents are expected to make public statements after the signing.
