ALWAGHT- The spokesman for Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has condemned the recent escalation of terrorist activities in northern Syria, asserting that Syrian government forces and Axis of Resistance fighters will ensure the Zionist regime and its allies deeply regret their latest atrocities.
Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini, spokesman for Iran’s IRGC and deputy head of its Public Relations Department, condemned terrorists in Syria as mercenaries of Israel, the US, and remnants of ISIS and other Takfiri groups. Naeini accused these groups of aiming to weaken the Axis of Resistance by creating new fronts, particularly targeting Syria as a critical resistance component.
He asserted that Israel seeks to offset its defeats against Hezbollah and Gaza’s resistance forces by engaging the Resistance Front in Syria. However, Naeini vowed a decisive and regret-inducing response from the Syrian Army and Resistance Front against these provocations and their supporters.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that joint Syrian-Russian airstrikes near al-Safira city in Aleppo killed and injured dozens of militants, primarily from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). Syrian troops have reclaimed key territories in Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama provinces, targeting militant supply routes and strongholds with heavy bombardments.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad reiterated his commitment to eradicating terrorism and maintaining territorial integrity, crediting allies for their crucial support. Meanwhile, UN envoy Geir Pedersen called for urgent political solutions to the conflict, citing severe risks to civilians and regional security amidst continued violence.
