Russian and Syrian Warplanes Target Terrorist Positions

ALWAGHT- Russian and Syrian warplanes eliminated terrorist positions in the outskirts of Idlib and Hama.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Damascus reported that Syrian and Russian warplanes conducted airstrikes on militant movements in the villages of Hazarin and al-Rakaya in southern Idlib countryside.

The strikes targeted positions of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham near Khan Sheikhoun in southern Idlib and Morek in northern Hama countryside, according to the report.

Earlier, media sources revealed that members of a terrorist group were arrested in northern Latakia. Meanwhile, operations by Russian and Syrian forces in various regions have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of militants.

Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham militants launched a large-scale assault in Aleppo and Idlib provinces last Wednesday, seizing several areas. Since then, Syrian government forces have been locked in intense clashes to reclaim the lost territories. Damascus has accused Western states and their regional allies of supporting terrorist groups to destabilize Syria, which has been plagued by foreign-backed militancy since 2011.
