ALWAGHT- Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has called for the prosecution of all political and military officials of the Israeli regime for their atrocities.
On Saturday, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, made a statement in a Hebrew-language post on X, formerly Twitter, urging the prosecution of all political and military leaders of the Israeli regime.
The post referred to these officials as part of a "criminal Zionist terrorist gang" and demanded accountability for their actions. This message was shared amid Israel’s ongoing war of genocide against Gaza since October 2023, its intensified aggression towards Lebanon, and targeted assassinations of resistance leaders across the region.
The conflict has resulted in over 44,176 Palestinian deaths—most of them women and children—and 104,473 injuries in Gaza. In Lebanon, more than 3,645 people have lost their lives due to escalated attacks. High-profile resistance leaders, including Ismail Haniyeh, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, and Seyyed Hashem Safieddine, have also been assassinated in these operations.
Ayatollah Khamenei's remarks followed the International Criminal Court's (ICC) issuance of arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Minister of Military Affairs Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. While Iran welcomed the ICC decision as a "victory," it criticized the exclusion of "genocide" from the charges.
"Fourteen long months into the occupying regime's genocidal campaign in Gaza, marked by the most harrowing atrocities, the ICC Pre-Trial Chamber I finally issued arrest warrants for the two top criminals, Netanyahu and Gallant," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated on X. He emphasized that genocide should have been explicitly included in the charges.
