ALWAGHT- Saudi Arabia has formally requested Iran to engage in joint naval exercises in the Red Sea.
"Saudi Arabia has proposed a joint exercise in the Red Sea," stated Iran's Navy Commander Admiral Shahram Irani.
He mentioned that both Iran and Saudi Arabia have extended invitations to each other to visit their ports, indicating a mutual interest in conducting bilateral exercises, as well as exercises involving other nations.
Irani added that preparations for these initiatives are in progress, and delegations from both countries will engage in consultations to determine the details of the exercise.
