ALWAGHT- Iran’s Judiciary spokesman has stated that the country is pursuing the Israeli assassination attempt on Hamas's political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran through international legal channels.
Asghar Jahangir announced on Tuesday that Iran’s Judiciary promptly filed a lawsuit after Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in an Israeli act of aggression in Tehran on July 31.
He emphasized that both the domestic and international dimensions of the crime, which he condemned as a "clear example of state terrorism," are being thoroughly investigated.
Iran has vowed to deliver a “harsh response” to Israel for this brazen act of terror committed on Iranian soil.
Jahangir highlighted that Iran’s military response does not diminish the importance of pursuing the matter through appropriate legal channels at the international level.
He noted that relevant authorities, particularly the Foreign Ministry and Judiciary, are actively engaged in international efforts concerning the case.
These efforts, Jahangir stated, resulted in an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council earlier this month. However, he added that Iran does not place much trust in the UNSC regarding this issue.
