ALWAGHT- The chief commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) described the Israeli regime as an entity that emerged from terrorism, asserting that it will eventually suffer the consequences of its own actions.
"The Zionist regime was born out of terrorism and lacks the essential elements of a nation," stated Major General Hossein Salami during an event in Tehran on Monday, in observance of National Journalists' Day.
He referred to the regime's establishment in the West Asia region in 1948, which followed the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians during a heavily Western-backed conflict. Since then, the regime has been involved in daily acts of terror against regional nations, aiming both to suppress opposition to its forced existence and to expand its occupied territories.
Salami compared the Israeli regime's repeated deadly actions to a "self-made vortex of fire" that surrounds it. He cited examples of aggression, such as the regime's assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists and the recent killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, in Tehran.
"They believe that these actions will help them extend their existence," he said. However, Salami noted, "These [atrocities] are actually pitfalls they have created for themselves, which will eventually lead to their downfall." He added, "When they receive a strong response, they will realize they have made another miscalculation."
The comments echoed those of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei following Haniyeh’s assassination. The Leader of the Islamic Revolution warned of a "harsh response" to the atrocity and reaffirmed the Islamic Republic's commitment to avenge the blood of the resistance leader.
