ALWAGHT- Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, vowed that Israel will regret the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, adding that the method of retaliation is currently being considered.

On the sidelines of Martyr Ismail Haniyeh's funeral, Major General Bagheri stated, "The Axis of Resistance and we are currently evaluating how to seek justice for Haniyeh's martyrdom. We are considering various actions, and the Zionists will undoubtedly come to regret this."

He emphasized, "This will definitely happen. Various measures will be taken, and the Zionists will certainly regret it."

Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas's political bureau, who had traveled to Iran for President Masoud Pezeshkian's inauguration, was assassinated at his Tehran residence early Wednesday morning, along with one of his guards.

Both Pezeshkian and Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei have vowed retaliation. Ayatollah Khamenei declared that the “criminal and terrorist Zionist regime” would face “severe punishment,” underscoring Iran’s obligation to avenge the Hamas leader’s blood.
