ALWAGHT- Iran's acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani stated that the Islamic Republic is continuing its peaceful nuclear activities under the supervision of the country’s top security body. He also mentioned that discussions regarding the removal of anti-Iran sanctions are ongoing.
Bagheri Kani made these remarks on the sidelines of the Iranian administration’s weekly cabinet meeting in Tehran on Wednesday, highlighting the late President Ebrahim Raisi’s focus on maintaining active diplomacy.
“The martyred president emphasized being proactive in foreign policy, particularly in fostering good relations and interaction with neighboring countries,” the top diplomat stated.
Bagheri Kani stressed that Iran’s nuclear activities continue under the supervision of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC). He also mentioned that negotiations to remove anti-Tehran sanctions are ongoing, stating, “The exchange of messages has not stopped and is still underway.”
In recent years, Iran has made significant advancements in its peaceful nuclear energy program, despite facing illegal sanctions and other obstacles imposed by Western governments.
As a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Iran has also been actively cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
