Alwaght- Thousands of Americans have demonstrated in New York in front of office of American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), supporting Palestine and calling for cessation of Gaza genocide.

Protesters held banners on Thursday declaring “AIPAC funds genocide”, while participants chanted “Free Palestine”, “Let Gaza live”, “Stop the genocide” and “Ceasefire now”.

Jewish Voice for Peace, an antiwar group, said that 18 Jewish activists were arrested for “shutting down” the New York offices of Democratic senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand who are pushing aids for Israel.

The US on Monday vetoed an Algeria-drafted resolution calling for immediate ceasefire, killing the fresh push to end Israeli war against Gaza people.

The UN Security Council’s 13 other member countries voted in favour of the text demanding a halt to the war that has killed more than 29,000 people in Gaza, according to Palestinian authorities, and displaced more than 80 percent of the population.

Protesters said that their country is part of the crimes against the Palestinian because it continues to assist the ongoing campaign in Gaza with arms and funding.

AIPAC is actually the largest pro-Israeli lobby in the US and works to influence the American policy in favor of the Israeli interests.

A protest outside the president’s Los Angeles home was held later in November, with protestors igniting smoke devices and spattering fake blood.

AIPAC and other pro-Israel groups are pouring millions of dollars into Democratic Party races, largely to bolster opponents to left-wing candidates, reported Aljazeera.

For years, activists have complained about the unregulated AIPAC flow of money in US elections with the aim of swaying America policy.
