The Hezbollah’s attacks on Israeli army positions

Saturday 27 January 2024
The Hezbollah’s attacks on Israeli army positions

Last night, Hezbollah, the Shia movement in Lebanon, declared that it had launched attacks on 9 positions held by the Israeli army.

According to Sputnik, the statement by Hezbollah indicates that rockets and other weapons were used in the attacks on Israeli army border positions. The situation in southern Lebanon worsened after Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. The Zionist regime army and Hezbollah fighters exchange gunfire’s on a daily basis on the border areas.

the Zionist regime army initiated Operation Iron Swords against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Several days after the attack, the Israeli army took control of all the neighborhoods near the Gaza border and began aerial assaults on targets including non-combatants in the Gaza Strip. Israel also announced a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, halting the delivery of water, food, electricity, medicine, and fuel to the region.

The casualty count in the Gaza Strip, according to local health ministry reports, exceeded 25,000 martyred and over 62,000 injured. According to various sources, more than 126 Israelis and 11 foreign nationals are still held captive by Hamas.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on both sides to cease armed hostilities. According to Vladimir Putin, the Russian leader, resolving the Middle East crisis is only possible based on the "two-state" formula adopted by the United Nations Security Council, which entails the creation of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with its capital in East of al-Quds.
