Missiles Hit US Base, Mossad Training Centers in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region

Alwaght- At least six missiles were fired on Sunday towards Khabat Districe in Iraq's Erbil Province.

The projectiles landed near an oil refinery in the in the northern Iraqi Kurdistan region, Reuters reported, citing the region's officials.

Sabereen News, a Telegram channel associated with Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), an umbrella anti-terror group, said eight projectiles had been fired towards the area from the direction of Kremlis, a Christian-populated village near the city of Mosul in the northern Iraqi Nineveh Province.

Some of the projectiles landed in Khabat, said the channel, which also provided some pictures of the immediate aftermath of the attack.

Kurdistan's officials said the missiles landed near a refinery belonging to the domestic energy company, the KAR Group. The company belongs to Kurdish businessman Baz Karim Barzanji.

Back in March, a dozen ballistic missiles were fired towards a villa belonging to Barzanji, which had turned into secret bases for the Israeli regime’s Mossad spy agency in the Kurdistan region.

Sabereen News reported at the time that the attack had targeted two Mossad training centers.

Lebanon's al-Mayadeen news network also reported back then that Mossad’s bases had been “fully razed to the ground and a number of Israeli mercenaries were killed or injured” in the precision strike.

No person or group has claimed responsibility for those attacks.

The United States' interests in Iraq have, however, been the target of numerous such attacks in the past, a number of which have been claimed by Iraq's resistance groups.

The groups have vowed to keep up their operations as long as the occupation forces remain in the Arab country.

They have also vowed not to brook any presence or activity by the Israeli regime--Washington's most important regional ally--against Iraq's sovereignty.
