Iran: Israel to be Punished for Terror Strike that Martyred Two IRGC Advisors in Syria

Iran: Israel to be Punished for Terror Strike that Martyred Two IRGC Advisors in Syria

Tehran has strongly condemned Israel's recent attack on the Syrian capital that led to the martyrdom of two Iranian military advisors with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), saying the occupying regime’s crime “will not go unpunished.”

According to Press TV, during Monday’s missile attack, Israel hit positions south of Damascus, martyring two people and leaving some material damage.

Iran’s IRGC named the victims as Colonel Ehsan Karbalayi-Poor and Colonel Morteza Saeed-Nezhad.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh offered condolences to the families and friends of the martyrs.

He also strongly condemned “the criminal act that stems from the Zionist regime’s aggressive nature, occupation and terrorism.”

“The infanticide Zionist regime’s insolence and operations via its terror machine will definitely not go unpunished,” Khatibzadeh added, noting that one of the goals of the resistance front in the region is to hold the apartheid regime accountable for its inhumane crimes.

The elite military force, which has been providing Syria with military advisory assistance in the face of foreign-sponsored militancy, has confirmed the martyrdom of two of its members and vowed to avenge their blood.

Tel Aviv has been a key supporter of terrorist groups fighting to topple the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad since March 2011.

It keeps a significant military presence in Syria’s Golan Heights, which it uses as one of its launchpads for attacks on the Syrian soil.

The occupying regime mostly keeps quiet about its attacks on Syrian territory, which many view as a knee-jerk reaction to the Syrian government’s increasing success in confronting terrorism.
