Yemen Rebukes UN for Ignoring Saudi Crimes against Yemeni Children

Yemen Rebukes UN for Ignoring Saudi Crimes against Yemeni Children

Alwaght- Yemen blamed the UN inaction in the face of continued Saudi violations against the Yemeni children.

Yemeni officials called on the UN to play its role to lift the Saudi blockade on Yemenis that causes more deaths among children instead of blacklisting the Ansarullah movement.

The member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed al-Houthi dismissed as baseless the UN accusation, saying it did not refer to an investigation on the ground as the movement has demanded. Meanwhile, the minister of information said the UN has turned a blind eye to the ongoing Saudi blockade on Yemenis, which causes the death of tens of Yemeni children on [a] daily basis.

Saudi Arabia and its allies launched a devastating war against Yemen in March 2015. The war has killed thousands of civilians, including women and children, and turned the war-torn country into the world's worst humanitarian crisis, according to the United Nations.

Observers say the United Nations' blacklisting of Ansarullah is politically-motivated and has no relation to the humanitarian situation in Yemen. They believe that the UN must take real actions against the Saudi blockade if it has real intentions to end the suffering of millions of Yemenis.
