Yemeni Army to Unveil Surprises against Saudi Aggressors

Friday 9 October 2015
Yemeni Army to Unveil Surprises against Saudi Aggressors
Alwaght- A senior Yemeni military official has vowed that more surprises are awaiting the Saudi aggressors and their allies in the country.
Yemeni army spokesman Col. Sharaf Luqman has called on the aggressors to leave out the women and the children out of the battle, stressing that the Yemeni army and the popular committees are ready put an end to combat.
In an interview with Lebanese al-Manar TV Luqman said, “We have defense systems which they had not experienced,” stressing that the army and the committees will use such systems in the coming days.
Asked about the situation in the central Yemeni province of Ma'rib, Luqman dismissed the “fake victories” declared by Saudi-funded media.
“They said they will enter Ma'rib and then will move to Sana’a within 48 hours. Up till now 40 days have passed and they did not control but a town near their camp there,” the Yemeni colonel said.
Luqman noted that the Saudi-led coalition have been using internationally banned weapons during recent days, stressing that such weapons are war crimes against the Yemeni people.
Meanwhile Yemeni forces have shot down a Saudi reconnaissance drone in the country’s northwestern province of Sa’ada.
A Yemeni military source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Arabic-language Khabar news agency that Yemeni forces targeted the remote-controlled unmanned aerial vehicle on Friday as it was flying over Kataf district in the arid and mountainous province, which lies 240 kilometers (150 miles) north of the capital, Sana’a. The small drone was later identified as a long-endurance Boeing Insitu ScanEagle.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for over seven months now to restore power to fugitive president Abed Rabbu Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 6,300 Yemenis, mostly innocent civilians including hundreds of women and children.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah resistance fighters, who are warding off the foreign occupation of their country, Saudi warplanes are indiscriminately targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure.
