Iranian Senior Clerics Slam Saudi Regime over Mina Tragedy

Iranian Senior Clerics Slam Saudi Regime over Mina Tragedy

Alwaght- A group of senior Iranian clerics, including Ayatollahs Naser Makarem Shirazi, Hossein Nouri Hamedani and Jafar Sobhani who are marja, in separate remarks firmly denounced the Saudi Arabia mismanagement in the annual Hajj pilgrimage, The Iran Project reported.

The incident is mainly due to the Saudi’s mismanagement and imprudence,” The Iran-based website cited Ayatollah Makarem as saying.

Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani also urged Muslims to free the Al-Aqsa mosque from the Zionists and take Mecca from the Al Saud. The Iranian marja went on to say that this is an incident which no one can forget, adding that Wahhabism is a fake ideology created by the Islam enemies, the Iran project reported.

Expressing deep sorrow over the death of hundreds of Muslims, another Iranian marja, Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani, reiterated that the Saudi government’s irresponsibility and carelessness was the best explanation for this disaster.

About 2000 people, including 155 Iranians, were confirmed dead since Thursday, the day of Eid when Muslims celebrate the culmination of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, but the death toll from the calamity continues to rise.

The incident comes only two weeks after a crane collapsed at the Grand Mosque in Mecca killing 109 people. Two disasters of this volume in two weeks are enough to refute claims of coincidence and stand as indicators of a deep-rooted problem.
