Israeli Forces Detain Palestinians in Al-Aqsa Clashes

Saturday 19 September 2015
Israeli Forces Detain Palestinians in Al-Aqsa Clashes
Alwaght- Israeli regime forces have detained at least eleven Palestinians while injuring several during fierce clashes that broke out across occupied East al-Quds (Jerusalem) on Friday against restrictions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Clashes were reported in Jabal al-Mukabbir, Issawiya, Shufat Refugee Camp, al-Tur, Silwan, Abu Dis, al-Izariya, al-Suwwana and Wadi al-Joz neighborhoods throughout the day and night.
In Jabal al-Mukabbir, locals told Palestinian Ma'an news agency that Israeli regime forces stormed the neighborhood, ransacking several homes and confiscating surveillance cameras from shops, as shop owners on the main streets were forced to shut down their stores.
The widespread unrest in East al-Quds on Friday came after days of rising tension surrounding the one of many of the occupied city's holy sites, the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli forces have accompanied extremists Zionist settlers in attacking and desecrating Al-Aqsa mosque resulting in clashes with Palestinian worshipers protecting the holy site. The UN has censure the Tel-Aviv regime for its provocations at Al Aqsa.
Palestinians believe the Israeli regime will renege on a longstanding agreement preventing non-Muslim prayer in the compound, further quashing hopes for East Jerusalem to be the capitol of the still unrealized Palestinian state.
Meanwhile senior Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, official Fathi Hammad has said al-Aqsa Mosque is on the threshold of liberation, warning the Israeli regime on its aggression against the Islamic holy site.
Hammad made his remarks during a massive rally staged on Friday afternoon in north Gaza in support of the al-Aqsa Mosque, which is nowadays facing an upsurge of attacks by Israeli regime forces and gangs of extremist Zionist settlers.

"One day, Israel will pay a heavy price," the Hamas official emphasized.

He expressed his belief that the occupation would never be able to tighten its grip on the al-Aqsa Mosque, regardless of its attempts to achieve that.

Hammad urged in his speech the Palestinian people in the West Bank to rise up in the face of the occupation and its collaborators.

He also denounced the Palestinian Authority for its ongoing security collaboration with the occupation and called for its return to the arms of its own people.
Occupied al-Quds has been witnessing, over the past few days, serious escalation in Israeli regime violations and incursions into the al-Aqsa Mosque within attempts to Judize the holy site.
