Alwaght- An Iraqi security official has announced the control on ISIS defenses east of Ramadi, pointing to the killing and wounding of four elements of the organization after being targeted by SPG9 missile.
Iraqi Federal Police Captain Raed Shakir Jawdat said in a statement published by Iraq News Website, “The security forces have advanced in the military operations in the eastern axis of the city of Ramadi, after controlling ISIS defenses in Husaybah area (7 km east of Ramadi).”
Jawdat added, “A force of the federal police managed to kill three snipers belonging to ISIS and wounding another after targeting their shelter by SPG9 missile in Madyaq area east of Ramadi.”
The commander of the Federal Police Forces, Raed Shakir Jawdat, announced on Sunday the killing of 12 ISIS elements, as well as the dismantling of eight booby-trapped houses and 45 explosive devices in the city of Ramadi.
Earlier on Sunday Iraqi security forces managed to enter Ramadi train station, saying they delivered heavy blow to ISIS terrorist group.
Mid-May this year, ISIS terrorists took full control of the central Iraqi city of Ramadi, the provincial capital of al-Anbar.
Despite the fact that Ain al-Asad air base hosting US fighter jets was very close to Ramadi, the American military forces took no action to stop the ISIS terrorists fighting to take over the Iraqi city.
Since August 2014, the US and some of its allies have been conducting airstrikes against what they say are ISIS positions in Iraq. This is while many of the countries joining the so-called anti-terror coalition, such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar, have been the staunch supporters of several terrorist groups including ISIS.
