Syria Intercepted Most Western Missiles as US, France, UK Launch Aggression

Alwaght- Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement leader says the US and its allies, Britain and France, failed to achieve any goal from the recent missile strikes on war-torn Syria.

In a televised speech from the Lebanese capital city of Beirut on Sunday evening, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayed Hassan Nasrallah stated that these assaults were meant to break the will of the Syrian nation and government forces, but instead increased their resilience and steadfastness.

“If this attack was aimed at raising the morale of armed groups, it actually frustrated them!’ the Hezbollah chief pointed out.

On April 14 US, France and Britain fired, over 100 missiles were fired at Syria as a response to alleged chemical weapons usage by Damascus. Russian and Syrian defense officials say most of them missiles were intercepted. The Syrian government has vehemently denied involvement in the alleged Douma chemical attack.

Lebanese movement Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah stated that the US-led missile strikes on Syria failed to achieve its goal and namely "to terrorize Syrian troops, raise morale of insurgents or serve interests of Israel."

He went on saying that the US military establishment kept its strikes limited since it was aware that wider aggression against Syria would provoke a response from Damascus and escalate tensions in the entire region. Sayed Nasrallah also accused some Persian Gulf states of inciting the US military actions in Syria and funding the missile strike on the country.

He stated that the United States, Britain and France rushed to launch missile strikes against Syria because they knew their claims of a chemical weapons attack against the city of Douma, located about 10 kilometers northeast of the capital Damascus, were groundless.

“They wanted to finish off the scenario before international chemical weapons experts could reach the alleged site,” the Hezbollah secretary general said.
