Alwaght- North Korea’s Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho has arrived in Russia on Monday for an official visit, as US officials claim Kim Jong Un is ready to discuss his country's nuclear weapon programs with Donald Trump.
According to Russia's TASS news agency, Morth Korea's top diplomat flew to the Russian capital on a scheduled flight from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Moscow said earlier that negotiations between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ri would be held on April 10. The agenda for the talks will include the development of bilateral cooperation and the situation on the Korean Peninsula. The trip is expected to last from April 9 to 11, although the Embassy of North Korea in Moscow did not specify the foreign minister’s program of the visit.
The news came as Western media claim North Korea’s government has communicated with the US to say that leader Kim Jong Un is ready to discuss his nuclear weapons program with President Donald Trump.
Associated Press cited an unnamed Trump administration official as saying that the US had “confirmed that Kim Jong Un is willing to discuss the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula?.” The news agency also quoted a second official as saying that confirmation had come through direct contact between American and North Korean officials.
However, North Korea’s government has not said anything publicly at all about a meeting with Trump, and the lack of known contact between Pyongyang and Washington about the meeting has fueled further speculation about the seriousness of Kim’s offer.
