Alwaght- Iran's Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei appointed a new commander as chief of the Iranian Navy.
In separate decrees on Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, put Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi in charge of the Navy, appointed his predecessor to a new post in the Army.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the appointment was made due to Khanzadi’s past record and urged him to make the utmost use of capabilities and capacities of the Army, the Armed Forces and the country to promote the Iranian Navy through firm determination, hard effort and constructive interaction.
The former long-serving Navy commander, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, will be serving as the deputy chief of the Army for coordination. Ayatollah Khamenei also thanked Sayyari for his endeavors during the time that he held the post.
And according to the third decree, Brigadier General Mohammad Hossein Dadras took over from Brigadier General Ahmadreza Pourdastan as the Deputy Commander of the Army of Iran. Dadras has been serving as deputy coordinator of the Iranian Army.
Ayatollah Khamenei urged Dadras to boost the intelligence and operation preparedness of the Army.
The Leader also thanked Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, who previously held the post, for his efforts.
Iran’s Army comprises four major forces, namely the Ground Force, Navy, Air Force and Air Defense.
