ALWAGHT- Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq condemned the double standards employed by the West regarding the Israeli regime's atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon.
During a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday, Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq commended Iran's policies regarding regional issues. He highlighted the need for certain Western governments to refrain from double standards in light of Israeli actions in Gaza and Lebanon.
The Omani leader underscored that supporting the rights of the people of Gaza and Lebanon is among Oman’s top priorities. He stated, “Oman has consistently asserted that continued support from Western countries for Israeli crimes is neither acceptable nor justifiable.”
In response, Pezeshkian emphasized that unity among Islamic nations would deter the Zionist regime from easily committing atrocities and would prevent the US and Western countries from backing it. He also acknowledged Oman's firm stance against the atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza and Lebanon, calling for increased pressure on Israel's sponsors to halt the regime's violence.
Since October 2023, Israeli attacks in Gaza have resulted in at least 42,409 deaths and 99,153 injuries. Additionally, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported on Tuesday that the death toll from Israel’s ongoing aggression in Lebanon has reached 2,350.
