Iranian Officials Hold Talks with Lebanon’s President in Beirut

ALWAGHT- Iran's Parliament Speaker and Foreign Minister met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Beirut on Sunday.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi have traveled to Beirut to attend the funeral of Hezbollah leaders Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and Seyyed Hashem Safieddine.

On Sunday morning, the two Iranian officials met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji at Baabda Palace, the official residence of Lebanon’s president.

Lebanon is holding a funeral for former Hezbollah leader Nasrallah nearly five months after his martyrdom in an Israeli airstrike. The ceremony is taking place at Camille Chamoun Sports Stadium on the outskirts of Beirut, followed by his burial at a designated site. The funeral also honors Hashem Safieddine, who briefly led Hezbollah after Nasrallah’s death before being martyred in another Israeli attack. Safieddine will be buried separately in southern Lebanon on Monday.
