Israeli Airstrike on Gaza School Kills Over 100 Palestinians

ALWAGHT- An Israeli airstrike on a school sheltering displaced people in the eastern Gaza Strip resulted in the deaths of over 100 Palestinians.

The devastating attack occurred on Saturday morning when Israeli forces bombed the al-Tabin school in the al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, according to Palestine’s official WAFA news agency.

Local sources reported that the airstrike struck while people were engaged in dawn prayers, resulting in a high number of casualties.

“The Israeli strikes targeted displaced individuals during Fajr (dawn) prayers, causing a sharp rise in casualties,” said the government media office in Gaza.

The media office condemned the attack as part of an ongoing “genocide and ethnic cleansing against our Palestinian people.”

The statement also noted the challenges faced by medical and emergency teams in retrieving bodies due to the extensive damage.

The media office urged the international community and the United Nations to pressure Israel to stop what it described as a "crime of genocide and ethnic cleansing" against Gaza's civilians.

Ismail al-Thawabta, head of Gaza’s Government Media Office, informed Al Jazeera that the Israeli military used three 2,000-pound (907 kg) bombs in its attack on the al-Tabin school in the al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City.
