ALWAGHT- The Government Media Office in Gaza reported that the Israeli regime has killed at least 16,000 children in the besieged territory since October, bringing the total death toll to over 39,000.
On Tuesday, the media office reported that nearly 90,000 Palestinians have been injured in the Israeli conflict, with the majority being children and women. Additionally, around 10,000 individuals are still missing.
The report also highlighted that 34 children have died from malnutrition, and 17,000 children are now living without one or both parents.
These figures come as a major general medical journal estimates that the death toll from Israel’s military campaign could reach up to 186,000, representing 7.9 percent of Gaza's population.
Earlier this month, the Lancet reported that this estimate includes both direct and indirect deaths resulting from the Israeli attacks, as well as those still trapped under the rubble in Gaza.
The journal noted that it based its figures on a conservative estimate of four indirect deaths for every direct death reported by the Gaza Health Ministry.
Since October 2023, the Israeli regime has conducted a campaign of death, destruction, and genocide in Gaza.
The regime has enforced a near-total siege on the coastal region, significantly restricting the flow of food, medicine, electricity, and water into Gaza.
