ALWAGHT- The Iran National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Organization was officially launched in Tehran on Tuesday, with Iranian Vice President for Science and Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi in attendance at the ceremony.
On December 29, the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who chaired the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, announced the finalization and approval of the "National Artificial Intelligence Document of the Islamic Republic of Iran." This document tasked the Science and Technology Headquarters of the Secretariat of the Council with preparing and compiling it in collaboration with ministries, relevant executive bodies, universities, and research institutes.
Subsequently, the Iranian Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution endorsed a national plan to establish an artificial intelligence organization. In a meeting chaired by Acting President Mohammad Mokhber, the council members approved initiatives aimed at positioning Iran among the top ten leading countries in AI technologies within a decade.
According to the document, a strategic council comprising ministers, heads of relevant institutions, and other stakeholders will be established to oversee the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the National Artificial Intelligence Document.
Under the supervision of the president, the National Organization of Artificial Intelligence of Iran aims to enhance governance quality and bolster scientific and research foundations within the country.
