ALWAGHT- After seven months since the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the dilemma surrounding Netanyahu's position as Prime Minister of the Zionist regime has intensified, with mounting pressure for his ousting. Presently, he faces threats not only from members of the war cabinet but also from opposition parties.
On Tuesday, the Israeli news channel "Kan" announced that Yair Lapid, leader of the opposition and head of the "Yesh Atid" party, is scheduled to meet tomorrow with Avigdor Lieberman, leader of the "Yisrael Beiteinu" party, and Gideon Sa'ar, leader of the "New Hope" party, to explore the possibility of establishing a new cabinet as an alternative to Benjamin Netanyahu's administration.
Opposition sources have indicated their efforts to facilitate Benjamin Netanyahu's removal and unite various parties to establish a new cabinet.
These sources also mentioned plans to incorporate Benny Gantz, a War Council member, into this alternative cabinet.
As per the aforementioned source, leaders of the three parties aim to collaborate towards organizing early elections.
Benny Gantz set a deadline until June 8 for Benjamin Netanyahu to devise a clear war strategy and its aftermath, warning of his withdrawal from the cabinet otherwise.
During his party faction meeting in the Knesset on Monday, Lieberman urged opposition leaders to consolidate their efforts and create a joint operations center to change the cabinet.
Lieberman proposed two options: forming an alternate government within the Knesset or agreeing on a deadline for early elections.
He called on Likud party representatives, led by Benjamin Netanyahu and holding 32 seats in the Knesset, to defect from the party and join their cause.
The most recent parliamentary elections in occupied Palestine took place on April 1, 2022, leading to the establishment of a government under Netanyahu's guidance, including figures like Itamar Ben Gvir as Minister of Internal Security and Bezalel Smotrich as Minister of Finance, known for their hardline stances.
Several officials, among them President Joe Biden of the United States, have labeled Netanyahu's government as the most uncompromising in Israel's history.
Following the onset of the Gaza conflict in October, Netanyahu's administration evolved into an "emergency cabinet," coinciding with the establishment of a war council.
