Alwaght- Now it is the US that should make a decision if it wants to revive the nuclear deal, Iran's President Sayed Ibrahim Raisi told Aljazeera on Thursday.
President Raisi is on an official visit to Uzbekistan to take part in Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.
He said that Iran has made enough efforts to help restore the 2015 deal from which Washington withdrew in May 2018 under Donald Trump.
"The West should stop pressures on the Islamic Republic as it fully complied with its international nuclear commitments," he further told the Qatari broadcaster.
He added: "The West should instead put strains on Israel, which owns weapons of mass destruction, to denuclearize."
He also said that any agreement on the revival of the deal and lifting of the sanctions should contain guarantees that Washington would not scrap the deal again.
Talks between Iran and the West on sanctions relief have been on hold since July as Tehran accused Washington of making excessive demands.
President Raisi's administration insists that it needs guarantees that the White House would never again withdraw from the accord Iran signed with world powers— the US, China, Russia, France, Germany, and Britain.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said during his Tashkent visit: "As I have always emphasized, Iran has repeatedly demonstrated sufficient will and goodwill necessary to reach the final step of a good, strong, and stable agreement, and there has been no change in Iran's positions."
Experts suggest that certain factors such as pressure from the Israeli leaders, disagreements with Congress, and internal problems in the US have been the reasons for the reluctance of the Biden administration to return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
