Alwaght- While the West is looking forward to reviving the nuclear deal with Iran, Israeli regime spares no effort to scuttle the 2015 agreement. Washington has promised to consider Israel's interests in any deal with Tehran but this guarantee has not satisfied Tel Aviv and assuaged the regime's concerns, and as the world powers and Iran move a step closer to the dead revival in Vienna talks, Israel's fears grow deeper.
In recent weeks, Israeli officials have been visiting the US and European countries, signaling that they are struggling to sway the negotiation process.
Pointing to Israeli War Minister Benny Gantz's visit to the US, regime's media said the trip meant to toughen the path to reviving the agreement. Gantz said that in the meeting with American officials, he will convey Tel Aviv’s opposition to the agreement that is supposed to bring back to effect the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). An agreement that does not set back Iran's capabilities for several years and does not limit it for years to come is an agreement that harms global and regional security, he said
"We will continue our efforts to increase measures to harm Iran's proxies and ensure that the country never acquires a nuclear weapon," Gantz asserted.
In addition to Gantz, Prime Minister Yair Lapid is planned to visit Germany in the forthcoming days and talk the deal with the German officials. Lapid also announced in a phone conversation with the French President Emmanuel Macron about Iran's nuclear case that Tel Aviv is against returning to the JCPOA and claimed that no other compromise will be made with the Iranians. Also, the Israeli regime, which owns the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons in the region and over which there is no supervision, asked the international community to stop Iran's nuclear program.
Along with officials' hustle and bustle, the Israeli media could not hide their concerns about a possible agreement to return to the commitment to the JCPOA between Tehran and the West. They claimed that the West has granted special privileges to Iran, showing that the possible deal will not consider the Israeli interests. The special privileges that the Israeli media outlets are talking about are not true, and the White House has clearly pointed to this issue. Therefore, this propaganda is launched to help Tel Aviv play victim as it is highly frightened to see a revived deal.
This propaganda and psychological warfare has a past. Whenever news of an accord come out, the Israeli lobby rushes to influence the negotiations. The Israelis even take a gesture of benevolence to the European interests and argue that the upcoming deal does not respect the Western red lines and only serves the Iranian interests in a hope to dissuade Washington from signing it.
Tel Aviv officials have declared the JCPOA as the "worst agreement in history" and have repeatedly admitted that they played an important role in the Trump's decision to withdraw from it in May 2018.
The Israeli leaders argue that any agreement will inject billions of dollars into Iran, and part of this cash will also flow to Lebanon's Hezbollah and other resistance groups in the region, labeled by Tel Aviv "Iran's regional proxies." These groups, the Israelis claim, use Iranian-provided funds for making missiles that put at stake the Israeli security.
The Israeli fear comes as recently in another war on Gaza, Tel Aviv sustained another humiliating defeat from the Islamic Jihad Movement. The Israelis believe that consolidation of the resistance groups' power will tip the scales of regional power in Iran's favor.
Empty bluffs against Iran
Not tolerating Iran nuclear deal and supposing any new deal with Iran as a threat to its regional interests, the Israeli regime has repeated its bluffs, suggesting that should the West sign a deal with the Islamic Republic, Tel Aviv will take its own measures to eliminate what it calls Iranian threats.
Noting that they are not party to any deal with Iran, the Israelis said that they warned their Western partners about the various aspects of the deal and will use the remaining time to prepare the ground for military option. A few days ago, Gantz claimed in his speech that the agreement with Iran allows the development of the country's nuclear capabilities, but in Israel there is a readiness for defensive operations against any scenario. The agreement that is being worked on with Iran is "very bad" and Israel has a duty to protect itself.
Mossad chief described the JCPOA a "strategic disaster" to the Israeli regime and claimed that it does not concern Tel Aviv and the Israeli side will take any measures to eliminate the threats.
"Mossad is preparing and knows how to remove that threat. If we take no action, Israel will be in danger," David Barnea said.
Tel Aviv has always pretended that it mulls attacking Iran's nuclear facilities, but Iran's deterrent power and the fear of Tehran's destructive response, which has been repeated in Iranian warnings, dissuade the Israelis from anti-Iranian military action.
In last decade, Tel Aviv claimed it was planning a large-scale military campaign against Iran, but the passage of time revealed the emptiness of its threats and showed they are made for internal consumption. The Israeli leaders know it perfectly that any confrontation with Iran will sign their own destruction warrant.
To promote fake news that Iran is just one step from building a nuclear bomb, the Israeli leaders publish counterfeit documents, but the world no longer listens to their threadbare scenarios against Tehran. All of Iranian nuclear activities take place under constant supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, with the agency's supervisors regularly conducting supervisions in Iranian nuclear sites.
Although the Israelis several times in recent years sabotaged parts of Iranian nuclear facilities, their actions failed to stop Iran from developing its peaceful nuclear program. Therefore, the Israeli saber rattling in recent months have been empty and Tel Aviv does not dare shooting even a single bullet at Iran. The Israelis threaten that they keep military options on the table while they suffer disgraceful defeat in the wars they wage against the Palestinian factions.
