Alwaght- Director of al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem), Omar al-Kaswani, has warned that Zionist settlers’ break-ins into the mosque has escalated over the past few days.
Extremist Zionist settlers, under protection of Israeli regime forces, desecrate and routinely storm into the Mosque on almost daily basis in total provocation to Palestinian worshipers where they perpetuate falsified myths about the Mosque, al-Kaswani said.
Talmudic rituals are performed and provocative slogans are chanted during the tours, al-Kaswani underlined.
Israeli forces, meanwhile, restrict entry of Muslim worshipers into the holy shrine, he added.
Monday also witnessed another incursion by Zionist settlers into the holy site under heavy military protection via the Israeli-controlled al-Magharibah Gate. The Muslim worshipers raised fears that the Mosque is increasingly becoming a military garrison after Israeli police troops intensified their presence at and around the site.
At the same time, the peaceful Muslim worshipers have been subjected to tough restrictions by the Israeli regime forces near the main entrances to the site. Several worshipers were searched and dozens more have had their IDs seized while attempting to enter al-Aqsa to perform their daily prayers.
Settlers' incursions into al-Aqsa Mosque are carried out on a daily basis in the presence of a large number of Israeli troops and special forces especially in the early morning hours because of the small number of Palestinian worshipers in the Mosque at this time.
Palestinians and Muslims all over the world are extremely angry at Israeli incursions on the al-Aqsa Mosque, considering them deliberate acts desecration of the holy Islamic site
Palestinians have declared al-Quds as the capital of a future Palestinian independent state, and insist that its heritage should remain intact.
The situation in al-Quds escalated last December when US President Donald Trump sparked global anger on December 6, by declaring that Washington would recognize al-Quds as the “capital” of Israel and move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city.
The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution by a decisive vote of 128 to 9 to urge Trump to reverse his contentious decision.
