Americans Do Not Have Slightest Moral Authority To Judge Cuba: Foreign Minister

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez

Alwaght- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez has spoken at the 72nd UN General Assembly saying the US lacks the slightest moral authority to judge his country.

Responding to US President Donald Trump’s remarks against Cuba during his speech at the General Assembly, Rodriguez reminded Washington of its own human rights records.

“We remind the United States of its violations of human rights,” Rodriguez said.  “They do not have the slightest moral authority to judge my country.”

He also accused the US of using weapons and financial, judicial and cultural pressure to interfere with the right of self-determination of peoples around the world. He warned that the attempt to use force to stop the global trend towards multilateralism will provoke effects that must be stopped by popular mobilization.

"Non-interference in the affairs of governments must be respected,” the Cuban official said, adding that “the patriotism invoked in US discourse is a perversion which embodies a supremacist vision.”

After rebuking the illegal US blockade against Cuba, Rodriguez slammed Trump’s recent military threat against Venezuela, Washington’s support for the Nica Act against Nicaragua and the political targeting of former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio “Lula” da Silva.

He also backed dialogue in Syria and the Korean Peninsula and offered support for anti-imperialist states around the world.
